Nice easy taxi ride to the airport and baggage check-in and security were a breeze so we had tons of time to spare - more than enough for a pretty full breakfast. The flight was on time - in fact, a little early, almost catching out Lucy and Scott who were picking us up. Back at Delsie Drive, we met Audrey for the first time and saw Cade and Braeden, like their parents, for the first time in 3 years.
It was Braeden's 18th birthday so he had the job of blowing out the candles on his cake:
Incidentally, the glass of red wine is mine - 21 is the age when alcohol is permitted in USA. Lucy had kept a bottle of Black & White for the occasion, so we toasted Swanson Renshaw - father, father-in-law, grandfather, grandfather-in-law, great grandfather and great grandfather-in-law to all present:
Incidentally, to get to his birthday cash, Braeden had to punch his way through these:
Of course, we saw the dogs as well - puppy Philly for the first time, Buster, looking his age, and sturdy Shelby. It was cool and damp for the first few days in Southern Oregon but brightened up considerably later in the week, allowing me to go for a couple of short cycles, one of which took me down to the Rogue River:
Scott and Lucy had a long weekend planned so we were also able to go out for 9 holes of golf - 3 times, in fact - once to Dutcher Creek and twice to Applegate, with Cade joining us on two of those occasions:
Whilst we were golfing, Jo & Lucy went to Pennington Farm for one of their lovely strawberry and rhubarb pies. We headed to The Weekend brewpub on Friday afternoon but didn't stay long as it was pretty busy, but we went back on Saturday morning - Lucy and Audrey running and me cycling - for their once a month pancake morning:
We played pickleball - like mini-tennis - even Jo played - and coped well:
We've had take-away pizza and Chinese, plus, of course, Scott on BBQ duties. Here he is carving the tri-tip:
Naturally, that was preceded by one of Lucy's cocktails - sangria this time:
We've even spotted one of the famous Grants Pass bears:
