Today (Friday) is the first day of my semi-retirement, but can I learn to switch off sufficiently? It's very easy to carry on working from home - I must learn to ignore work e-mails. Perhaps I need to re-open a separate private e-mail address?
Anyway, we had a lovely time golfing in the Emirates. Nigel and Andrea's hospitality was wonderful. They have a nice villa with a secluded central courtyard and a small pool. What's more, I won the golf for the week:

The world's tallest building is the new Burj Khalifa, which is so high it's occasionally in the clouds on the rare days when the sun's not beating down. The sun usually glistens off it:
