Summer bummer

From http://ianrstewart.blogspot.com/

Well, is that summer 2012 over now? Seems like the clouds are here to stay for a few days - but what a great week it was - even better than it was in March. High 20's most of the week - almost too hot for golf. Talking about which, I nearly had another hole in one yesterday, when playing in the Seniors match at Deeside. My tee shot at the 1st slipped agonisingly over the hole, resting just a couple of inches behind it.

The even better news is that the old Merc, after many years of rusting in our driveway, has finally gone - never to return - we hope! Our new kitchen arrives (in bits) this Friday and will be installed week commencing 11th June, and, last night, young Dan Hibbert was round again and it seems like our downstairs WC/shower room is finally going to get its long-awaited make-over.

All good so far - and soon I'll be heading off to Pittodrie to help out with the set-up for this week's beer festival - most of which I'll miss as we head off to Ayr for Lauren's wedding this weekend. On the way down on Friday, I've got my fitting appointment for my wedges at Sports Orthotics in Hamilton.

And I got a really nice surprise parcel from Australia this week - no, not from Kelly, but from Tony Lang, my old Scout Leader from Knightswood, who had phoned me several months ago, promising me some photos of me at Scout camp in Arran in 1961. I'll need to add them retrospectively to Renshaw's Chronicles some time soon, but, meanwhile, here's one of Tony himself from 50 years ago, when he was but a callow youth of 20:
