More adventures in Adelaide

From http://ianrstewart.blogspot.com/

On Saturday Kelly drove us up to the Adleaide Hills and we had lunch at the excellent Bierhaus in Lobenthal, after which we tried a couple of wineries, walked round the very Germanic and pretty town called Hahndorf and then also visited Grumpy's Brewhaus in Verdun (all reported in my Ale Blog).

On Sunday, it was the final day of the Tour Down Under and we took the tram in to the city centre to meet up with Kelly and watch it. First of all we went a walk along Rundle Mall and came across this:

At the start of the race, Kelly joined us:

We walked the course and had a nice day.

Kelly was back at work on Monday so Jo and I decided to walk up to Henley Beach. It turned out to be a bit further away than we thought but we got there in the end and had a lovely lunch. We spotted these on the way there - one of them is real:

On the way back, we took our shoes off and paddled home:

Back at the apartment, we changed and then caught the tram and train to North Adelaide where Kelly was putting a couple of hours' work in at her gym. Here she is behind reception with her pal and soon to be landlady, Meghan (that's Meegan, not like our Meghan):

Here's the girls leaving the gym:

At Jo's insistence, Kelly took us round the rest of her local haunts. First, the house that she, Brad and Meghan are about to move into:

Swish eh? Compare and contrast with her current abode:

Garden needs some tending. Finally her original house - the one she looked after whilst Travis was out of the country:

This house was in a very nice part of town - Mawson Lakes - a bit like a holiday resort we thought.

Kelly took us to her work as well - in a rougher part of town:

Here's Kelly's little car too:

So that's me up to date. Jo and I got a bit burned yesterday so we're not rushing out this morning.
