Anyone seen any fellow bloggers recently?

In the space of time when I must have posted 20 or more blogs, only Jo has been blogging. What's happened to the rest of you?

Toothy

From http://ianrstewart.blogspot.com/

The lowlight of the week so far was undoubtedly my trip to Pittodrie on Tuesday evening - only my 2nd this season. Malcolm Grigor had a spare ticket - and, well, it's rude to say no, isn't it?

I managed another trip to Bannatyne's yesterday - just before I went back to see my oral surgeon. He hadn't been able to fit my temporary tooth last week due to the pain in my mouth, but, despite the fact that there's still some swelling in the gums, I was able to wear it for a while last night:

It'll be 4 months before the bone is ready for the implant to be finished, but I'm not sure how much I will wear the temporary tooth - it's cumbersome and difficult to speak properly with it in. The surgeon says I'll soon get used to it, but I don't know whether I'll get that far or not. Right now, I'm walking round with it in its pack in my pocket:

Tonight is my first meeting on the committee of the golf club - hope it doesn't go on too long!

I've updated the archive photos on the sidebar of my blog - hope you like them!

Monday morning - a week's work to be done!

From http://ianrstewart.blogspot.com/

I feel my first full week back is going to be a long one, but at least our sleep patterns seem to be more or less back to normal now. We did the right thing turning down the invitation to the Black Tie Ceilidh at the Old Course Hotel, St. Andrews on Saturday night, much though we both love the location. It gave us a chance to have a "normal" weekend at home again - it had been a while since we'd done this - first there was the Christmas weekend, then New Year, then the next weekend we went off to Aviemore, and after that it was Hong Kong, Adelaide, Melbourne and Singapore, so we owed ourselves this one.

Gary, Carole and Luca came over for lunch yesterday - that was nice. Luca and I played football with the beachball we got at the Tour Down Under, sponsored by Santos. After a while, however, he decided it was time to watch cartoons, so up to our bedroom and he snuggled under our duvet and watched TV there:

As they were leaving, we gave Luca his shark t-shirt we bought for him in Oz:

What else has been happening? Well, we watched another of the LoveFilm DVD's this weekend - American Gangster, starring Denzil Washington and Russell Crowe. It was pretty good - in parts anyway. It took a bit of time to get going and it ran on for a while, but it wasn't bad. We started to watch it on Saturday night, but I fell asleep after about half an hour, so it was take 2 on Sunday night before we saw it all.

Good news on the golfing front - Thomas Cook finally agreed to take our clubs to Turkey after all. They had earlier told us they had sold out of their allocated space for clubs on our flight, so that's a relief.

A few of us are also considering doing a bit of hill-walking again this year, culminating in a weekend in the Lake district in September - the same time as we did the WHW last year. That'll allow me to book in for my next knee operation!

I've also got the surveys for the 2012 edition of the Good Beer Guide still to do - maybe I can persuade somebody to be my chauffeur this week!

We booked tickets to go and listen to 80 year old Jimmie Macgregor at Woodend Barn on 20th March - the day of Jo's 60th. It's described on the web site as:

Jimmie Macgregor, 80 years young talks about his life, stories, songs and interviews.
The format is simple. Jimmie traces back to his art school days and the beginnings of the folk music boom - London, Skiffle, Jazz, TV, Radio, The Albert and Festival Halls. Concerts here and abroad, Songs and more songs, Encounters with the famous - Tarzan, John Wayne and even Jimmy Shand! And of course, tons of jokes.
A relaxed and light-hearted show, visuals and music intersperse to create a truly special afternoon!
