Mid-week report

The Lesinas got back from camp on Sunday and we all had a nice, simple meal of hotdogs. In case you wondered what they got up to at camp, this photo of them about to leave last Thursday might give you a clue:

On Monday morning, I got my rear back on the saddle again and went for a decent ride, during which I explored where the trailhead is for our planned walk up Dollar Mountain on Saturday morning. The view from the trailhead is:

We were sitting around the dinner table on Monday when we suddenly noticed Tina pulling something out of the undergrowth to play with:

A bit like the escapade with the humming bird, Tina only wanted to play with the snake, but when it tried to escape, she grabbed it back and damaged it in the process. We don't know if the snake ever recovered or not.

Nothing specific was planned for Tuesday but Scott, having checked his workload at the hospital, decided he could afford to take the day off and he took us all (except Lucy) out to the Swinging Bridge over Illinois River for a picnic and a swim.

It's a bit of a hairy road, but it's a beautiful spot and well worth the effort. The boys - including Cade's pal, Chris - were in their element and spent virtually all their time in the water, jumping off rocks etc. Here's some photos from the day:

Then to top it all off, we went to Scott's friend Rick's house in the evening for a BBQ:

The boys were back in the water again:

What a lovely day.

It's now Wednesday and I've been for my first round of golf - just 9 holes at Applegate River - since we came here. It seems like yet another long holiday has passed and I've played hardly any golf. We leave here on Sunday for 10 days in California and that's us gone from Grants Pass for another year.
